Hardware: How to test my newly assembled hardware

    This evening I assembled my open sprints kit, plugges it into the USB of my mac and the red LED on the main board blinks and the sensor red and green LED are also on. The next step is to update the firmware. In attempting to find out which port the unit is connected to I used terminal but got this error - ls: /dev/cu.usb*: No such file or directory

    This indicates the mac is not connecting to the unit right ? Have i assembled it incorrectly ? Is there a way to test its assembled and working ?

    You'll need to install the FTDI VCP driver for the Arduino to show up there:
